Questions we may consider before attending counselling
How long do counselling sessions last?
50 minutes for adult counselling
45 minutes for children's counselling
How often do I attend?
Normally every week or at least fortnightly to begin with. We will review the counselling sessions every 6 weeks to check in on how you are getting along. You can end your counselling sessions any time. It usually helps to have a planned ending where possible.
This may be short term or long term work depending on your individual situation. We will talk about this in your first session.
Do I have to talk about the past?
We will talk about areas that you would like to focus on and contract these into the work. It is your choice what you decide to bring to the session. Not always, but usually the past arises in some form or another in the sessions. Past issues can be difficult to avoid when working on issues in the present, the past is sometimes affecting our present.
How do I pay?
There are on line payments methods or you can pay by cash each session. Cheques are not accepted
Please visit the Payments section

Continued Practice Development
I am committed to life long learning and take part in regular training. I really love learning new skills and ways of working. BACP require counsellors to have at least 30 hours of CPD a year, I often do more. I have CPD in a broad range of children's and adolescent issues, adult issues, different therapeutic approaches and different skills.
